Young Life Africa introduces teenagers to Jesus Christ and helps them grow in their faith. Africa is a continent of young people; 75% of the population of sub-Sahara Africa is under the age of 25. Since launching in Africa around two decades ago, Young Life has grown rapidly, reaching over 1,372,000 kids in 27 African countries. They have accomplished this by reaching one kid at a time and training local leaders to be rooted in God’s Word and to branch out into their local communities to love lost kids.
Patrick Lavahun serves as the Regional Director for Young Life Africa in Freetown, Sierra Leone. He is a friendly and outgoing worker for the Lord and a humble servant who loves Jesus. He met the Lord through a crusade, where he was convicted of his sin and compelled to surrender himself fully to the Lord. He became involved in Young Life in 2008 and now oversees 137 clubs and over 800 leaders.
