It’s Fall and that means a new school semester and new students at UTTyler! This year the welcome party was held at the Olsen’s home and combined with the Tyler Sister City program.
UTTyler has exchange programs with several schools in China, Japan, and other countries. There were six students and one professor visiting for six weeks. We had several Bethel families host these students during their stay here. There were 65 students and volunteers for dinner and games! Aron Wilburn prepared dishes that would appeal to the Asian students. One student was homesick and said it was the first time she had really eaten a good meal since leaving home.
If you are interested in being a part of the International Student Ministry, we have a pumpkin carving party on October 26 from 3-5 PM at the Olsen’s. There will also be another round of exchange students coming in the Spring if you would like to be a host home! For more information, you can email Karen Olsen at kolsen@sbcglobal.net.
