We began our second full day in Japan with breakfast and team meeting to plan for our morning with the Asian Access children. Then we were able to join all the A2 missionaries for Sunday morning praise and worship before taking all the kids for a morning filled with activities, music, crafts, bible lessons and games.
After lunch, half of the team staffed the children’s area during free time while the other half walked into Old Karuizawa, a quaint historic town with dozens of local shops, restaurants and businesses. We saw Japanese men and women in traditional dress, thousands of jars of local honey and jam for sale, upscale shops, and charter busses filled with visitors unloading in this popular tourist town.
After a family-style dinner and great conversations in the dining hall, we all returned to the chapel for a fun and entertaining evening at the annual A2 Family Night talent show, cheering on several acts by the A2 kids we’ve enjoyed so much this week!
