Today was the final day of the pastor training institute in Ometepe, Nicaragua. We averaged over 60 people everyday of the institute. The training this week focused on God’s Word, and we had the opportunity to teach about revelation, inspiration, canonicity, and the practical aspects of living a life that lives out the truths of Scripture. It has been a blessing to get to know these believers, and they expressed their appreciation as we came to the close the institute. It has made me aware of how much we take for granted. The believers who attended the institute were very humble and hungry for learning more about God’s Word. Most have never had any formal biblical training and our prayer is that the lessons this week will impact the church here on Ometepe.
After the close of the institute, several of us when on a hike through a jungle area near our hotel. It was interesting to see very large trees growing on a ground that is volcanic stone. We were also able to see some monkey’s living in the jungle. The trail we were walking on came close to several young monkey’s, and it was interesting to see how protective the older monkey’s were of their young.
Tomorrow morning (Friday) we will head back to Managua, and fly home on Saturday. Please be in prayer for the believers here in Ometepe as they take what they have learned back to their churches, and pray for us that we will have safe travel over the next two days. I have attached pictures of David and the adult monkey that was very protective of the young monkey’s.
I thank God for the heart of our church making it a priority to make disciples.
