"Come Grow with Us"

The New You! "...put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness." Eph 4:24

Vision Statement: Equipping and Moving Believers into ministry

Bethel's Ministry to Women is committed to carrying out the church vision statement by equipping women not only for ministry but for life. We move women into ministry by providing opportunities to serve the body of Christ in areas that match their spiritual gifts and talents which God has given.

Purpose Statement: Provide opportunities for women to grow spiritually/personally in the following areas:

  • Bible Study
  • Prayer
  • Fellowship
  • Evangelism/Outreach
"They devoted themselves to the apostle's teaching, and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer...and the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved." Acts 2:42, 47b

Bible Study Opportunities

Bible study is the core of Bethel's Ministry to Women. The goal is to make it as easy as possible for women to participate in Bible study by offering a variety of times and locations as well as options regarding length of study, depth of study and amount of homework required. Current Bible study options include:

For the spring 2008, the women of Bethel will be studying

"A Woman's Heart: God's Dwelling Place" by Beth Moore on Tuesday mornings.  We will begin January 8th at 9:15 a.m. with a "Welcome Back" brunch in the youth room.

For the Wednesday evening study, you may choose Beth Moore's "A Woman's Heart, God's Dwelling Place" or "Falling in Love with Jesus" by Dee Brestin.
Cost for the studies is $15.

Childcare is available for both Tuesday and Wednesday studies but you must sign up ahead of time.

We look forward to you joining us this semseter. Contact Kim Prothro at 903-534-9006 or Leslie Strader at 903-533-1461 for more information.

Prayer

  • Bible studies have a "small group" format which include times of prayer for one another.
  • Organized prayer for specific events
Fellowship

Ministry to Women recognizes that women have an inherent need for relationship and that Christian women in particular are strengthened and encouraged by connecting with one another. Opportunities to develop friendships and to develop a sense of belonging are provided through:

  • Summer Potluck Dinner
  • Annual Women's Retreat
  • Women's Special Events such as 1 day conferences, Ladies Night Out, and Fun in the Son speaker/brunches and couple events.
  • Church-wide Special Events such as annual baptism service, family game nights, decorate the church for holidays, etc.
Evangelism

In Matthew 28:18-20, Jesus gave the great commission to go and make disciples of all nations. It is the desire of Bethel's Ministry to Women to participate in this command to spread the gospel beginning in our own community individually and corporately and in the future, to develop short-term mission trips for women as well other local opportunities.

High Tea - event hosted by Bethel women every 18-24 months. Bethel women decorate the tables with their own china and centerpieces. Fabulous food is served by our women. A special speaker is brought in to share the gospel with guests. This is an event we all look forward to and which we plan and prepare for straight from our hearts, out of devotion to Christ and love for others.

Womenary

Womenary is not a Bible study, but an opportunity for women to come together and experience seminary-level courses taught by accredited professors in a relaxed classroom setting.

“My purpose is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.”
Colossians 2:2-3

Womenary desires to educate and equip women to handle the challenges they face living in a post modern society where Truth is continually challenged or treated as non-existent. In the classroom you will experience the pure joy of learning while becoming better equipped to impact your world for Christ.

Womenary's 2008 spring semester begins February 5th.  Our class this semester will be "Apologetics:  How to Defend Your Faith."  You can register on-line or pick up a registration form at the church.
