Matthew 5:16 commands all believers to let their good works shine and glorify God. The passage reads: “let your light so shine that they may see your good works and glorify your Father Who is in heaven.”

The inspiration of this verse led Bethel to develop the Community Connection ministry. The purpose of the Community Connection ministry is to invest resources, gifts, and the love of Christ into the Tyler community. One of the primary expressions of this ministry is the adoption of Griffin Elementary School. Bethel members serve as math, reading, and state advancement test tutors, librarians, fund-raisers, facility enhancement teams and, most of all, friends.
