Monday was the first day of 5 Day Club at PT Cole Park on S. Vine in Tyler. We have 20 MSM students & leaders show up at 9:30 AM on Monday ready to play games from Connect 4, UNO, football, soccer, basketball 4-square & serve the kids & community surrounding PT Cole Park. Each student & leader who has joined us for this in-town mission trip was required to attend traiing on how to serve others. Today was designed to put our training & prayer in action.
Our focus verse for the week is Philippians 2:3 “Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves.”
In this passage the Apostle Paul urges fellow followers of Christ to Humble Service. Paul calls the Philippians to unite in love and humility (vv. 1–4), as exemplified by Christ’s humble service (vv. 5–11). Our goal this week is to unite in love and humility not only with those at PT Cole Park but with one another!
Today was a great day! Our students served from the moment their parents dropped them off at 9:30AM until pick up at 2:00. New friendships were formed within our team and the community. It was great to watch kids skipping rope, form a limbo line, battle with finger rockets, challenge each other in board games (i.e. Connect 4, UNO, cards, etc…) & washers, as well as play a few pick up games of 4-square, football, soccer and basketball. We concluded our day by launching a bucket full of water soaked balls with giant slingshot!
On Tuesday morning please pray as we will begin our “club” portion of 5 Day club. Our students have planned a 45 min program designed to share the Gospel of Jesus. We will start with some ICEBREAKER Games,a few songs, then hear the story of Jesus healing the Paralytic (Luke 17-26). Our memory verse challenge for the day is Luke 5:24 “But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins”.
Thank you all so much for your prayers. Please feel free to join us this week at PT Cole Park you will be blessed watching & serving with our MSM students!
